If you shave and you suffer from:
- Ingrown hairs in the intimate area.
- Razor bumps and itching.
- Red bumps.
Then this package could be your salvation!
The pack contains 4 products used for intimate shaving - both before, during and after hair removal. The products have been carefully selected to minimise the risk of ingrown hairs and red bumps after shaving in the intimate area.
How to avoid red razor bumps and ingrown hairs in the intimate area
When shaving, it's important to focus on both preparing the skin before you start and using good products for the shave itself. In addition, make sure you take good care of your skin once you're done.
Here's what we recommend when you're shaving:
1) Before you start shaving
Before you start with the scraper, it is important to prepare the skin. Bacteria and dirt should be removed, and dead skin cells and stubborn hairs should be exfoliated away and softened to minimise the risk of ingrown hairs and razor bumps.
First, wash your entire intimate area thoroughly with the intimate soap. Massage gently onto wet skin and rinse thoroughly.
Then squeeze an appropriate amount of body scrub into your hand and massage into the area. The scrub exfoliates the skin to remove dead skin cells. This ensures that the scrub glides over the skin more easily, minimising the risk of ingrown hairs and other irritations. When finished, thoroughly rinse off any scrub grains from the skin. The skin is now ready for the shave itself.
2) When you need to shave
You should always use a shaving gel when shaving. It helps the razor glide over the skin, protecting it from the razor blade and any bacteria that might settle in the exposed pores.
Apply Intim Shave to the area to be shaved and leave for 1 minute before using the razor. The shaving gel softens the hairs and helps them to rise from the skin, giving you a smoother, neater result.
Shave in the direction of the hair growth and rinse the razor to keep it clean and free of hair and bacteria. When you're finished shaving, thoroughly rinse off any excess shaving gel and hair residue. Finish off in the bath and gently pat skin dry with a clean towel.
3) After your shave
Care after your shave is as important as the preparation. Skin is left bare and can be sore, red and dry. Therefore, apply a good layer of Intimate Balm to the newly shaved area immediately after bathing and after you have dried off. Give the cream time to dry before you get dressed.
You can also apply Intimate Balm to the skin in the days following shaving to maintain the skin's moisture balance and keep it protected from bacteria, razor bumps and ingrown hairs.
Why do the products in the package work?
The intimate shaving products are specially selected for those who have problems with ingrown hairs and red bumps as a result of intimate hair removal.
The products work in part because of the active ingredient, Tea Tree Oil, which has been used for centuries for a wide range of skin problems. Tea Tree Oil's unique properties help to ensure that your skin's healthy balance is maintained and minimises the occurrence of red bumps and other skin irritations.
Preparing your skin is important before you start using your razor. Our Body Scrub can be used on the entire body and is also ideal for intimate exfoliation. It is especially important to exfoliate the skin and dead skin cells if you often experience ingrown hairs in the intimate area after shaving.
Tips for a nice and smooth shave
In addition to following the procedure described above using the products in the pack, there are other things you can do to ensure that your shave ends without red and sore razor bumps and ingrown hairs:
1) Do not share your razor with anyone as there is a risk of transferring bacteria. We also recommend that you use a clean blade for each shave to minimise the risk of discomfort and bumps afterwards.
2) Avoid tight-fitting clothes right after shaving, such as nylon stockings, skinny jeans and synthetic underwear that your skin can't breathe in. It's a good idea to wait as long as possible before putting clothes on after shaving to give your skin time to breathe and recover from the razor.
3) Shave in the direction of hair growth - not against. If you scratch against the grain, you significantly increase the risk of painful ingrown hairs.
