Most of us struggle with blackheads on the nose or other areas of the face from time to time. This is not uncommon, but if you are affected by the small, dark spots, you would probably like to do something about the problem.
Preventative care is the best defense towards blackheads, and with the products in this kit, you’re well on your way in removing and preventing blackheads on your face.
This is how you cleanse your skin from blackheads
Daily rinsing and moisturising of the skin are foundations in achieving a beautiful, clean skin. This also goes for removing blackheads on the nose or other areas of the face.
Daily morning & evening cleanse
Every morning and evening you should rinse your face with the Face Wash. This efficiently – but gently removes bacteria, dirt and leftover makeup from the skin.
Start by removing your makeup and distribute an appropriate amount of Face Wash onto the wet skin. Massage into the skin using circular movements and finish by rinsing off with luke-warm water. If you have been using makeup during the day, it could be a good idea to double rinse in the evening so that you can rest assured that your skin is free from sebum, makeup and sweat.
Once the skin has been rinsed, it’s very important to add moisture. Even if you have oily skin, it’s important that you don’t skip the moisturiser. If you rob your skin of moisture, it will over-compensate by producing more sebum, which can clog your pores and cause more blackheads and pimples. Massage a small amount of face cream onto the face. A little goes a long way, so only use a small amount – you can always add more cream if it feels necessary.
Allow the cream to be absorbed, before applying the clear liquid from Spot Stick directly onto your pimples and blackheads. We recommend that you use Spot Stick at least 4 times per day for the best effect. Feel free to bring it along with you in your purse or bag, so that you have it available throughout the day. Spot Stick can be applied under or on top of makeup.
Weekly deep-cleanse of pimples and blackheads
Besides the daily rinse, we recommend a deep-cleansing face mask and to use a blackhead remover once per week.
Always start by rinsing your face with the Face Wash mentioned before.
After this you can apply the clay-based face mask. Allow it to sit on the skin for 15 minutes, before rinsing it off with luke-warm water. The clay mask exfoliates your skin and removes dead skin cells, leaving your skin smooth and soft.
Now the time has come to push your blackheads with the blackhead remover. Make sure that the pores are open, so that you can easily squeeze out the sebum. It may help you to steam your face or apply a warm, wet cloth onto your face so that your pores open up completely. This will make the blackheads easier to remove, and you will avoid potential damage to the skin.
Place the little loop at the end of the blackhead remover over the blackhead and carefully apply pressure until the blackhead pops.
If a blackhead is hard to push, we recommend that you skip it. When it comes to skin, you need to treat it carefully, otherwise you will only make the situation worse.
Once you’re done you can rinse both your face and the blackhead remover and finish with a nourishing layer of face cream.
Be aware of the fact that it can take some practice before you master it. Gently experiment with it and remember, you’re not supposed to apply big amounts of pressure. Give it some time and practice – soon you’ll get the hang of it.
What is a blackhead?
A blackhead occurs, when a pore is clogged with sebum. As the sebum gets to the surface the black colour shows. The black colour doesn’t indicate dirt or filth – it’s simply the colour of the sebum once it’s exposed to oxygen.
The dark blackheads are more common, and can occur anywhere on the body, where you have sebaceous glands. However, it’s more common in areas with more glands, such as the nose and chin.
Besides the dark blackheads, you can also find white ones. A white blackhead is also due to sebum clogging pores, however the white blackhead stays under the top layer of the skin, which is why it doesn’t turn black. It’s not exposed to oxygen as it would if it was sitting on top of the skin.
How do you remove blackheads?
It can be hard to completely avoid blackheads, as they are affected by hormonal levels. They occur due to clogged sebaceous glands, and the black colour occurs when the sebum is in contact with oxygen. The blackheads occur due to clogged pores – not bacteria. If they are in contact with bacteria, they can develop into pimples, something most people want to avoid.
For this reason, it’s important to have a good daily skin care routine, which assures that sebum and bacteria from the surface of the skin is removed, so that you can minimise the amount of blackheads and pimples.
In order to reduce the number of blackheads on your nose and face you can – in addition to the products in the kit – use a face serum with Niacinamid. This will reduce the size of the pores.
The best way to remove blackheads is by preventing that they ever occur. If a blackhead makes its way to your nose, you can remove it by cleansing thoroughly and using a blackhead remover, which is a part of this kit. When you use a blackhead remover you minimise the risk of bacteria entering the blackhead and worsening the situation.

The story of healing tea trees dates back thousands of years and it originates from the Aboriginal people of Australia. Their legends describe lakes surrounded by tea trees. Falling leaves and twigs from the tea trees leached their essential oils into the water and turned the lakes into antiseptic baths. The lolacl Aborigines used these natural, healing spas to treat a number of conditions, such as skin infection, burns, cuts and insect bites.
The healing benefits of tea trees were not officially registred until 1923. However, the local Aboriginal tribe, Bundjalung, had long understood the protective and healing powers of tea trees and used their crushed leaves to treat various wounds and skin infections. They named the land with tea trees “Healing Ground”.
The products from Australian Bodycare contain natural, antiseptic Tea Tree Oil (Melaleuca Alternifolia). Tea Tree Oil has been known and used by Australian Aborigines for centuries because of its powerful antiseptic effects. Tea Tree Oil has been added to all Australian Bodycare Tea Tree Oil products in different concentrations, depending on which skin problem the products is developed to combat and where on the body it is to be used. Our product series is tailored for the entire family: It prevents and treats the most common skin problems—all while staying gentle on the skin.
