Does your hair look greasy and dull shortly after hair wash?
If your scalp is out of balance and produces too much sebum, it can lead to oily hair and scalp. If this is the case, you are not alone! Greasy hair affects many people but are not solely a matter of appearances. An oily scalp can itch and be irritated as well, and you should therefore do something to prevent it.
The products in the kit are carefully selected to remove and prevent oily hair and scalp.
How do I get rid of oily hair?
We recommend the 2 scalp and hair products to get rid of oily scalp:
Tea Tree Shampoo
Every time you wash your hair, use the Tea Tree Shampoo. Tea Tree Oil shampoo is - as the name suggests - based on the Australian, natural oil and works both as an anti-itch and deep cleansing agent on oily scalp.
Wet the hair and apply a few pumps of the shampoo to scalp and hair. Massage the shampoo thoroughly into the scalp and pay particular attention to neck, temples, and top of the head/crown, where the hair often tends to become oily. Massage for a few minutes before rinsing with plenty of water.
We recommend double washing at every hair wash. This ensures that residues of styling products, excess sebum, and bacteria - which can cause an oily scalp - are effectively removed, and that the shampoo's beneficial ingredients are allowed to work in depth.
When you have washed your hair twice, it is important that the shampoo is thoroughly rinsed out. If product residues are not removed properly, they can cause even more oiliness.
If you have long hair, you might want to use conditioner too. Conditioner adds moisture and strengthens the hair elasticity. This reduces breakage and dull hair.
Scalp Scrub
1-2 times a week you should exfoliate your scalp using the scalp scrub.
Scalp Scrub deeply cleanses and gently - but effectively - removes dead skin cells, sebum, dirt, and product build-up, which can cause greasy hair.
Wet the hair and scalp and then apply the Scalp Scrub using your fingers. Treat yourself to a nice scalp massage as you distribute the grains all over the scalp to scrub away dirt and excess oil. When you are all done, rinse thoroughly with water to remove the product and grains from scalp and hair.
Scalp Scrub has 2 functions: it is an effective scalp scrub as well as a shampoo. Therefore, you can use the scalp scrub for your second wash as well - if you want to exfoliate further in depth. Alternatively, you can also use the Tea Tree shampoo if you prefer.
Apply either scrub or Tea Tree Shampoo on the scalp and massage thoroughly. You will experience more foam at the second hair wash, which is a sign of the hair and scalp being completely clean and free from oil and dirt.
Thoroughly rinse both hair and scalp with plenty of warm water when you are all done. Apply conditioner to your hair if needed and rinse with lukewarm or cold water to lock the moisture in the strands.
You need to use the products as described above for a minimum of 2-4 weeks before expecting results. The scalp needs time to adjust to the new products and get the sebum production under control.
Why does my hair become oily?
Greasy hair and oily scalp can have numerous causes, including hormonal imbalance, stress, lifestyle, etc.
For many, however, greasy hair is a problem due to frequent hair washing. This causes the scalp to overproduce sebum which clogs the pores and makes hair and scalp look and feel oily.
If your scalp becomes oily quickly and you wash your hair frequently, this may be the reason why the condition is not improving – and may even be worsening.
Every time you wash your hair and scalp, you remove the natural oils that your skin produces, and your skin will therefore compensate by producing even more. If you use styling products in your everyday life – wax, hairspray, dry shampoo, or something else – it can worsen the problem and even lead to pimples on the scalp.
Cut back on the hair washing and choose deep cleansing products when it is time to wash. This gives the scalp time between washes to find its proper moisture balance, and you effectively remove dirt, bacteria, and excess sebum due to the deep cleansing products.
The 2 products in the package for oily scalp have been carefully selected to help you combat oily hair and scalp.
How do the products work?
The package consists of 2 hair products that help you get rid of an oily scalp and make your hair look healthy again.
Hair Clean Shampoo cleanses in depth in a gentle way. The Tea Tree shampoo restores the moisture balance of the scalp, and the Tea Tree Oil counteracts bacteria and minimizes itching as well.
The Tea Tree Oil Shampoo also contains water-soluble coconut oil, which adds moisture to the hair and scalp. It is very important to avoid the scalp drying out as this can subsequently lead to overproduction of sebum.
Scalp scrub gently exfoliates the scalp and frees it from excess sebum, dirt, residues of styling products and dead skin cells. Crushed apricot kernel seeds exfoliate the scalp, leaving it cleansed and healthy.
After use, both your hair and scalp will feel healthy and completely clean, and your hair will appear more voluminous. When you remove dead skin cells and build-up, the skin will feel as it can “breathe again”, and since the products also ensure the right amount of moisture, greasy hair and scalp will be reduced over time.
