Concealer - how to make it look natural
Table of contents
What is a concealer?
A concealer is a makeup product, which hides everything from pimples to redness in the face. It consists of a somewhat liquid product and often includes a small brush or stick to use for application on smaller areas of the skin. You can purchase concealers in many different colours, so you can pick the one more similar to your own skin tone.
It is a very useful product, that can be used when dressing up and going out, but also for everyday use, when you’re looking to achieve that natural look, whilst covering up blemishes and dark circles.
Cover blemishes and impurities easily
Pimples, impurities and blackheads is quite normal, but that does not make it any easier to deal with. If you’d like to reduce the visibility of skin impurities, a good concealer is the best place to start.
Remember that even though concealer covers up impurities, it won’t make them go away. If you want the impurities gone, you need to start cleansing your skin thoroughly, twice a day, to rinse away bacteria.
After cleansing you can use a concealer to cover pimples, as well as redness, darker areas under the eyes or pigment spots.
Care for, hide and minimize impurities with our Concealer.
Concealer from Australian Bodycare is based on the bacteria-resistant Tea Tree Oil, which keeps the skin healthy. Tea Tree Oil protects the skin against new pimples, impurities, and blackheads.
On top of that the concealer contains both hyaluronic acid and salicylic acid, which maintains the skins moisture levels and gets rid of impurities in the skin. This way you’re nourishing the skin and minimising impurities, whilst covering up the problem areas. The moisture from the Hyaluronic acid makes the skin smooth and even, which makes it easier to distribute other products on top, like powders or foundations.
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, you should talk to your doctor, before using products with salicylic acid.
Our concealer comes in three different colours, so that you can choose the one, that better matches your skin tone. It can be used by both men and women of all ages.
How to include the concealer into your skin care routine?
Apply the concealer after cleaning the skin – this will give you the very best result. In order to both cleanse the skin deeply, minimise impurities and keep them hidden, you can combine our concealer with our other products. Read more below.
This is how it’s done
We recommend that you use our Concealer in combination with the products in the Face kit this way:
- Face Wash – Thoroughly clean your face and your neck with Face Wash. It’s important to remove all bacteria, leftovers from makeup and excess sebum twice a day (morning and evening) to minimize impurities.
- Face Tonic – Apply Skin tonic to the rinsed, dried skin, using a cotton pad. Face tonic is not supposed to be rinsed off.
- Face Cream – Finish with a nourishing layer of Face Cream, so that the skin stays protected and moisturised all day (or all night) long.
- Spot Stick – The efficient spot Stick directly on your pimples, blackheads or other impurities and let it dry, before moving to the next step.
Finish it off with a Concealer
After the first four steps you can apply Concealer directly onto the pimples that you wish to hide. The smart stick makes it easy to target the specific area, no matter how small it is. The product can be blended into the skin with a finger or makeup sponge.
Feel free to use the concealer multiple times a day if you feel like it’s necessary.
Our Spot Stick and Concealer are two products that are convenient to keep on hand. Distribute Spot Stick onto the impurities and then apply Concealer. Both products can be stored in your purse, so that you can maintain a good skincare routine, even when you’re out and about.
Tip: If you’re struggling with pimples, blackheads, and impurities, adding a serum to your skin care routine could be very beneficial. In the case of impurities and pimples, we recommend Blemish Serum with Niacinamide for daily use.
Why should you use concealer?
Concealer is made for people who struggle with pimples, blackheads, redness, and other impurities, and who wish to conceal it in a natural looking, simple way. It can also be used for coverage of dark circles under the eyes and/or pigment spots.
Our concealer can also be referred to as” A camouflage for pimples” due to the product’s effective coverage of unwanted irregularities in the skin. It also provides high quality ingredients, which care for the skin and prevent blemishes and pimples.
It’s simple to apply concealer directly to your pimple, and its light texture makes it easy to blend the product into the skin. It can also be used to cover other irregularities in the skin, such as pigment spots on the chest or neck.
What should you look for when buying a concealer?
Would you like to incorporate a concealer into your daily makeup routine? It’s all about finding the right concealer for you. Gain more knowledge about what you should be paying attention to below.
Purpose
Are you looking for a concealer to cover blemishes or dark circles? If you would like to brighten the area under your eyes, you can apply the concealer in an up-side-down triangle and gently blend into the skin with a brush makeup sponge.
Consistency
The thicker concealers often work better for coverage of blemishes, whilst the concealers made for the eye area are lighter in texture. The consistency can often tell you things about the coverage but be aware that a very high coverage concealer might look cakey and unflattering on the skin, rather than blending in smoothly.
Colour
For the eye area it makes sense to select a concealer a couple shades lighter than your skin tone to give a brightening, fresh look and to better cover up dark circles.
When it comes to covering blemishes, your concealer should match your skin tone. Otherwise, it will have the opposite effect and draw attention to your problem areas. The concealer should ideally melt into your skin, so that it covers, as well as being invisible for people to see. If you are also a lover of foundation, you can look for the same (or similar) tone to your foundation when shopping for a concealer.
