Acne is caused by an overproduction of sebum by the skin of the face and elsewhere on the body. The sebaceous glands become clogged and inflamed and this causes spots. It is quite normal to have acne, especially during puberty when hormones are all over the place, there is no real cure as such as the bacteria that cause acne are a natural part of your skin’s condition.
However, there are several things you can try to reduce and prevent acne. The most commonly used products for the treatment of acne benzoyl peroxide and azelainic acid. These may be enough in most cases. At the same time it is very helpful to use a good face wash and moisturising cream. It is important to keep the skin clean to keep the spot forming bacteria under control and add moisture to the skin, as dry skin just leads to even higher levels of production of sebum - just the opposite of what you are trying to achieve.
