Tea Tree Oil is the foundation for the problem-solving skincare we sell in our webshop.
The oil is added to all our products in just the right amount, but you can of course also buy the 100% pure and concentrated oil.
We explain what essential oils are, what they are good for and how to use them.
Yes, essential oils and essential oils are just 2 different names for the same type of oil.
The natural oils are called essential oils, which is where the name essential oils comes from.
Tea Tree Oil is a good example of an essential oil. Tea Tree Oil from Australian Bodycare is extracted from the tea tree (Melaleuca Alternifolia) by steam distillation, and the problem-solving products are exclusively infused with the original oil grown and extracted in Australia.
Essential oils are concentrated extracts from e.g. plants or fruits, often obtained by steam distillation, extraction or cold pressing.
Tea Tree Oil is a good example, as it is an essential oil extracted by steam distillation from the tea tree.
Essential oils have many uses. Essential oils are often used for aromatherapy, massage oil, in perfume, natural medicine or as active ingredients in skincare and cosmetics.
Essential oils have many properties, depending on the essential oil in question. Many people experience essential oils as having a relaxing effect, making them suitable for aromatherapy or mixed in massage oil, for example.
Some oils also have cleansing properties, as is the case with Tea Tree Oil. Other oils have a revitalising effect due to their fresh scent, such as certain essential oils extracted from citrus plants. Other oils, such as mint, have a cooling effect on the skin, which is why essential oils are often added to skincare products.
Australian Bodycare products contain Tea Tree Oil, and several of the products are also available in a variant with Lemon Myrtle or Mint. While Tea Tree Oil is known to fight bacteria and keep the skin healthy, Lemon Myrtle provides vitamin C, while Mint has a cooling and soothing effect on irritated and dry skin.
There are many essential oils out there, and it can be difficult to know which one is good for your particular skin problem.
Here we take a look at some common and popular essential oils and what they are good for:
The Australian oil is known for keeping skin healthy and balanced. The oil counteracts impure skin, pimples and itching and is therefore good for impure skin, oily skin or irritated skin. Tea Tree Oil is added to all problem-solving products from Australian Bodycare as it can be used to soothe and reduce a wide range of skin problems.
Lemon Myrtle essential oil has a refreshing and revitalising effect and is also high in vitamin C, which gives the skin a glow. Lemon Myrtle also has moisturising properties that strengthen hair and skin.
Lemon Myrtle is a popular choice for most people and also has a deep cleansing effect on impure skin, scalp or for sour toes and sweat odour.
Mint essential oil is rich in both vitamin C and vitamin A, which are important for the healthy balance of the skin. Mint has a cooling effect on the skin and the essential oil is therefore ideal for itchy and irritated skin, e.g. mixed into a quality vegetable oil or by adding a few drops to a relaxing foot bath.
Lavender oil is well known and often used in aromatherapy and massage therapy. This is due to the oil's calming effect, which many people love.
Lavender is also known to soothe irritated skin and helps restore the skin's healthy balance, for example if you suffer from impure skin.
Eucalyptus essential oil has several properties. In addition to fighting bacteria, it also stimulates blood circulation as it brings warmth to the skin, for example when mixed with a vegetable oil for massage.
Eucalyptus oil is also great in a warm foot bath for sore and tired feet.
The oil not only calms skin irritation, but also boosts the skin's healthy glow, leaving it looking beautiful, fresh and youthful. Rose Geranium is often used in anti-ageing products because it is believed to have a smoothing and firming effect on the skin.
As mentioned, essential oils have multiple uses. It depends on which oil you choose.
On this page you will find our selection of essential oils, including the concentrated and undiluted Tea Tree Oil from Australia.
The pure and concentrated oils from Australian Bodycare can be used in several ways.
For example, you can use the essential oils like this:
Essential oils should be diluted before using on the skin. We recommend diluting with an unopened food-grade vegetable oil. Read how in the online package leaflet here.
